I don't really care if the answer is yes or no. I'd just like an official answer from Best Buy so I can make the choice of cancelling my physcal order and just move on to PSN directly so I can have it unlock Thursday night. I'm pretty certain the answer is no though.

I feel you on that one. I do have the special edition preordered and like collecting steelbooks. But since I won't have much time to play this coming weekend I'm really valuing the time to play from 9PM.

No, he can play at 12:00 am if he buys digital. If he buys physical from Best Buy, it won’t be until after the store opens at 10:00am on Friday. Then you also have the drive home and the download and install. It adds up to a significant amount of time really. I’d definitely switch to digital if I had ordered the standard edition.
