Forspoken Pre-order, no steelbook

So, my family pre-ordered me a copy back in December specifically from BB because of the steelbook.

The game itself arrived, no steelbook. That's never happened before, did you change something so they have to specially order a version with the bonus instead of just pre-order in general or did you guys not send the steelbook to everybody who pre-ordered for some other reason?

As it was a family member who ordered it as a gift, the order info I have is a guest order as they did not make an account or use mine (for obvious reasons of "did not want me seeing it"), but I can provide the information to look it up as needed.

I’m in the same boat. Per a Best Buy associate on the forum, the steelbooks haven’t shipped out yet because they’re on back order and Best Buy has no way to guarantee a ship date so it’ll be a wait and see affair

Hopefully they ship out or update us soon. I want to be sure it's actually coming at some point. Usually when there's a bonus delay I've gotten emails from companies explaining rather than tbe product just showing up without it...

Do we have any updates on this? My Forspoken steelbook has yet to ship and I haven't got any kind of update what so ever. Seems like it sitting in limbo. I collect steelbooks which is mainly the reason I order most of my games from bestbuy but this is somewhat frustrating.

I got in touch with a representative via chat that told me yo wait before contacting Best Buy any further as they were “absolutely positive I would receive the steelbook by 2-02.” As of yet I’ve only seen one person on the forum that said there’s has moved to the packaging stage. Everyone else, as far as I’m aware, is still seeing in process for their order. I’ve also tried to change mine to store pickup a few times (since the option is available to be chosen on my order) and it won’t let me. Says it can’t due to the order being processed. So at this point it’s just wait and see

Thanks for the update. This is the first time this has happened so I'm hoping they honor that 2/2 prediction. If they don't follow through I may have to consider getting my games from somewhere else.

So, a rep posted in here and had me DM them some info to verify things, and I got an email for the steelbook order seperately.  That was the 26th, and it shipped out the 27th.  It's currently the 30th, and it just arrived in the mail now.

A rep got in touch with me on my own post and this is what they had to say. “ I reviewed your order in our system, and can see the steelbook is in a known backordered status. While inventory is currently unavailable for this item, we are attempting to secure it, and you should have been notified during checkout that there was this delay. I apologize if this communication was missed somehow.
That said, please keep an eye on your email for notification of when this may ship out. I'm unable to speculate on when we will secure inventory, but I encourage you to reach back out here in the future if you'd like us to take another look for any additional information.” The chat rep gave me the date I posted above but I have no clue if this is a guaranteed thing or not
