We keep meeting like this.
I preordered this item in March of 2019. Nintendo Collector's Editions are very hard to come by and always really limited, so I preordered it right away.
In June 2019, I moved from GA to NC.
I could not change my preorder pick up for this items online so the Raleigh store did it. The item was confirmed to be in the Columbus, GA store. The status changed from waiting for pick to ready to mail.
It promised delivery by Monday, yesterday, 8/5/19.
Today, I get off of the phone with your phone support and was told that the item is sold out, but Best Buy will offer me 10% off if you get another copy.
This is beyond infuriating. I could have arranged for someone to pick it up. Instead, I trusted in your process and now am unable to buy this at this price. I will have to look into third party resellers.
Why is this process so messed up? Why is this simple shipment, something that even GameStop, the legendarily bad meme store, capable of this, but Best Buy cannot do?
The 10% off offer is the worst part. Best Buy is offering 10% off of an item they do not have.
Awesome, why not make it 100% off? I mean, you don't have it, right?
How can I get this item?

I understand where you’re coming from, vvn. While pre-ordering does not necessarily guarantee that you will receive an item on the day of release, we do our best to fulfill pre-orders as inventory becomes available prior to making the same item available to walk-in customers. To clarify, the game in question was not shipped from one store to the other.
Our pre-orders are not a guarantee of release day availability. It simply holds you a spot to be fulfilled as soon as we receive product from the manufacturer. In some instances, situations outside of our control can impact availability on release day, in which case, we will fulfill your order as soon as possible. In this situation, the manufacturer did not send enough copies to cover all pre-orders. I have documented this for you at a corporate level for internal review, as we take our customers feedback seriously, and rely on it to find ways to improve our processes. Let me know if you have any other questions.
