My local BestBuy refuses to give me the game on Thursday. I sent an email with a screen cap and an employee on these boards saying that we could, and I never got a response.

When I called my local Best Buy, the guy who answered didn't know more than that it releases Friday, so I asked to speak to the Manager.
Manager is also excited for the release, and he knew about the Thursday release.
From the conversation, it doesn't matter if the Best Buy is aware of the early release or not because with the SKU number (6352243), it will unlock Thursday 3pm for sales for all stores.
Basically, go to your Best Buy on Thursday 3pm. If they give you a hassle saying it's not for sale, tell them to enter the SKU for purchase it will work at that time. They'll apologize for not knowing and you'll have your game

@ Best Buy management:
Can you provide SKU numbers and info for those of us picking-up on Thursday between 3 and 6pm?
I ordered the 79.99 edition, I want to make sure this is included in the early pick-up of the game.
Last question: Do you know when we may receive an e-mail or confirmation that we are elligible to pick-up during the Thursday pick-up times?
We appreciate your time and attention to this matter.

I've never received an email telling me I'm able to pickup any orders the day before (usually at 9pm). And the employees always seem oblivious to the fact. It usually takes me standing there for 15 minutes or so trying to talk them into it until they eventually let me pick it up. Since only curbside pickup is available, that might not be an option this time. So people once again reporting that their stores know nothing of this is worrisome, even with having all the screenshots and the confirmation from the specialist on here. Like I said before, my store is 30 miles away, so I'd rather not drive that distance to be denied. Would a specialist please chime in to let us know what needs to be done to ensure we get it early? Shipping is no longer an option, which is what I would have gone with before the confirmation of being able to pick it up a day early since it was set to be delivered on the 10th anyway.

Also, even with those preorders that were supposed to go live at 9pm, it still wouldn't let them ring it up for me. They had to have a manager override it. So I don't know how much faith to put into them telling us that the SKU will end up going through at that time.
By the way, to the poster above, the SKU for the $79.99 version is 6352243.

Good afternoon, everyone,
I appreciate you all connecting with us through our Support Forums with your questions! It looks like there’s still some lingering questions regarding this early release event for the Final Fantasy VII Remake, so I’d like to provide one last follow-up to address your concerns.
As mentioned, we have confirmed with our support teams that all stores should receive communication surrounding this early release event, with instructions on how to release these pre-orders on Thursday, April 9 between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. If you’ve successfully placed your pre-order for in-store (now curbside) pickup, and your store is still open on April 9, you should be able to go pick up your order between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., and this includes all versions of the game. I’m happy to see some of you have already confirmed this with your local Best Buy stores as well.

Once your order is ready for pickup, you should receive an email with instructions on how to utilize our Curbside Pickup to get your copy of the game. There’s always the chance that email could get lost in the corners of your spam or junk folder, so if you’ve successfully pre-ordered a copy of Final Fantasy VII Remake for in-store pickup, and your store is still open on April 9, I recommend visiting the store holding your order between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., with a valid ID, and your order number, and they should be able to assist.
