Hey all,
Have been following this forum for a couple of days and it's been really helpful so I wanted to submit my input on what worked for me. First of all, don't call. When you arrive at the store it's difficult to say you spoke to a manager a couple of days ago - you need a paper trail.
Instead, I emailed a handful of stores in my area asking if they would be participating, and attached screengrabs of the Best Buy webpage (page 5 of this forum from Helppleasenow and otherworldview), as well as SeanM's post saying all stores are particpating (page 7 of this forum).
As a result multiple stores have replied saying they will honor the Thursday 3 - 6 p.m. release. One even said they didn't know about it previously, but this was enough to make them feel it's valid. Plus I now have email proof from the store manager to show when I go for pickup tomorrow. Below is the email I sent (and don't forget to attach screenshots!). Thank you to everyone for being on the case here - hope this contribution helps.
Hello,
I am curious if your store is participating in this Best Buy promo I’ve seen in a few places. Attached are two screengrabs (one from BestBuy.com and one from a specialist on the Best Buy forums) suggesting this game (SKU 8561024) will be available for pickup this Thursday, 4/9 between 3 – 6 p.m, which is prior to recorded release.
Could you please confirm if this is the case? If so, I will pre-order to your location immediately.
Greatly appreciated,

Square Enix DID NOT give anyone outside of Australia and their own personal shipping company authorization to sell the game early. Stop spreading false info please, just because someone else said it, does not make it true.
Their only official statement was that they were releasing it in certain areas that were going to have shipping constraints. That Walmart purchase required a manager override, our Mobile supervisors Mom is a GM at one of our Walmarts and she IS NOT able to sell the game without overriding the street date and risking a fine for break of street date.
Reddit is not a reliable source of info.
Still working on an update currently.
I am very curious as to why you think The America's weren't included in early release when the official FF7R twitter listed the Americas specifically as a location that will be getting the game early. You're spreading misinformation
