Why is Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen (SKU: 6323986) for Switch unavailable for purchase?

Before it came out, it was not available for pre-order at any of my 3 stores. Then, once it released none of those stores had a copy. The online ordering said it would take over a week to arrive. And now BB.com says it is only available for Store Pickup but won’t let me select any of the store near me. (It will let me pick a store over 100 miles away though)

Why is is so challenging to purchase this game from Best Buy?

Welcome to the Best Buy forum and thank you for taking the time to reach out with your questions. I certainly understand eagerness to purchase cool games, including Dragon’s Dogma: Dark Arisen for the Nintendo Switch.

While I cannot speak directly to availability of particular products in your area, certain games may have a limited release. In such situations, each store is provided with a certain amount of copies and then, once those copies are claimed, the store would not have additional available product to sell at their location. If a game is only available for store pickup and a customer wanted to purchase a game not available near them, their only option would be to order from a store with remaining product and then travel to that location to pick it up.

If your local stores do not have the game you’re looking for, I cannot promise if or when more product could potentially be available for order. That being said, customers are more than welcome to keep an eye on BestBuy.com for any future updates of that nature. While not the answer you were likely hoping for, I hope this helps clarify ordering in the future.
