At this time, we have no information if we will be offering refunds on Cyberpunk 2077 for any platform. My understanding is that currently, the manufacturer may be offering refunds.  Once we know more information, we will update this thread, but for now, I will be locking it and new posts will be removed as spam.

Obviously, Cyberpunk 2077 had a ton of anticipation coming into its release, and while I’ve not played it myself, it would appear that perhaps for some, it hasn’t lived up completely to that anticipation.  While many are enjoying the game, and it appears that there is a patch coming on 12/21/2020 that should hopefully help improve the game even further, we can certainly understand why some might be wanting to return the game, even after it is opened and played.

Normally, Best Buy is unable to offer returns of opened game software per our Return & Exchange Promise here.  However, after some deliberation, and seeing that the vendor will be allowing returns through 12/27/2020, Best Buy will also be allowing returns for select opened Cyberpunk 2077 SKU’s through December 27, 2020.  Beyond that date, we will return to our normal Return & Exchange Promise for the game.  Here are the game SKU’s that will be returnable:

6255151 - Cyberpunk 2077 PS4

6255136 - Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One

6352276 - Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition PS4

6352440 - Cyberpunk 2077 Collector’s Edition Xbox One

6414180 - Cyberpunk 2077 Xbox One Digital

You can bring your game to your local Best Buy store, or if you had your purchase shipped to your home, can return it via mail.  If you need assistance obtaining a return label or with a digital copy refund, please contact us at (888) 237-8289.  Please also keep in mind that if you received the steelbook offer with the game, that will need to be returned as well, or the value of the steelbook will be deducted from your refund.

First I applaud Best Buy for allowing customers to refund Cyberpunk 2077. Shame the game launched jn the state that it is in. Can't wait til we get the game we deserve.

Is there a way to return the game only of my collector's edition as I would like to keep all the other contents? I realize that it would essentially be the Collector's Edition Cost minus the 59.99 for the game which I am ok with but thought I would ask anyway.

I saw the topic stating that owners of the Xbox and PS4 versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will be able to receive refunds.

Are people that purchased the PC version just out of luck then?

In December 7 of this year I purchased 3 games as bestbuy was running a promotion for buy 2 get 1 free. I needed up buying call of duty, assassins creed, and cyberpunk 2077. As you are well aware that cyberpunk has had numerous problems since launch. Because of this bestbuy has stated they will take a return on a open product. Well because this game was $49.99 it was the free game of the promotion. I tried to do an exchange so I could just get a different title since this was part of a promotion. But they wouldn’t do it because it’s a manufacturing return. Basically telling me I didn’t pay anything for it anyways. So I return all the games! This was not my intention but since they would not even try to help me I just returned all games and will buy from other retailers from now on. Basically I felt that I wasn’t even a customer! You guys made me feel like a promotion to you guys doesn’t matter!

I had a terrible store experience at your Tuscaloosa Best Buy store when I was trying to return Cyberpunk 2077 on 12/18/20. Best Buy stated they were accepting returns for this game like Sony, Microsoft, and CD PROJECKT RED. The employee at the customer service desk refused to accept the return and refused to read the post on Best Buy's forum stating they were accepting returns for this game, the employee got an attitude and mocked me under her breath and said she was not going to read the the post from the website and to get lost. A manager had to get involved to process the refund. This employee also mocked me for not speaking loud enough when I was wearing a mask over my face due to COVID-19 regulations which makes it difficult to talk at times, I have never seen such appalling behavior from an employee in any store I have ever set foot in.

Good evening.

I'm curious how Best Buy is handling returns with Cyberpunk 2077 from a previous promo. I have two paid copies of Cyberpunk 2077 (both sealed) and a copy of The Pathless from the lastest Buy 2 Get 1 Promo. Am I able to exchange one copy for another game? The game selection only had a handful of titles. I don't want to return the whole bundle because I would lose the promo pricing.
I don't mind returning the steelbook, but I'd like to know before I make the trip to the store. Would it better to wait for a refund from Cdprojektred instead? I reached out to them, and I'm waiting for the next steps.
