I hope you’re all having a great day. I totally feel how a game release like Animal Crossing: New Horizons is essential to staying positive during a time like this. I know I’ve found a lot of comfort in games, books, and movies lately.
Regarding the release date of Animal Crossing: New Horizons, that has not changed. Generally speaking, we would advise customers to keep an eye on their email as they should receive a message as soon as their game is ready for pickup. I do hear that some of you are seeing estimated pickup for March 21 instead of March 20, though. While most orders currently seem to show pickup on release day as we would expect, I’ll be reaching out to our internal partners to see if they can provide any insight regarding orders that show a different estimate. I’ll update the thread here as soon as I hear back, but thanks for your patience in the meantime.

Likewise, my in-store pick-up pre-order status has changed to reflect: "Preparing for Pickup on Saturday"
If that is indeed the case, I'll unfortunately have to cancel my order and buy it elsewhere or digitally.

Thanks for your patience while we were waiting for word from our partners. We have been advised that so long as a customer’s store pickup location gets their stock and checks it in, customers should still be able to pick up their order upon release even if the pickup says Saturday.
For customers who have chosen ship-to-home for Animal Crossing: New Horizons, as usual, we are doing our best to ensure your games are delivered as close to release as possible by shipping out at a level of service needed for it to arrive at your door on the release day. In the vast majority of cases we hit this mark, but there can be logistics or supply issues outside of our control that may delay an order’s delivery.

Hello! I preordered Animal Crossing a few weeks ago but so far I havent received any shipment info about the physical game copy itself.. My order is coming in two parts- one with an item that I purchased with my game (already shipped) however it says "Getting it Ready" for Animal Crossing and still says "Arriving Tomorrow" (3/20) although it has not been shipped yet.
At this point I can't even cancel the order anymore since it's "getting ready" for shipment. I'd like to cancel the pre-order and purchase a digital copy if I'm not going to receieve it for a couple of more days.. but I don't even have any information at all about the status of my order. I would really just love some clarity.
