I bought one yesterday after the reviews came out. Got the code from Best Buy in ~15min after my order was placed. Activated it on my Switch. Got the 300 Gold coins and it's preloaded and ready to go!

Hi there, cocobeware,
Welcome back to our community forums. I intend to play Animal Crossing: New Horizons quite a but so I didn't want to worry about swapping the cartridge out. As ScottTremper mentioned, the digital version of this game will provide a code that your can then redeem in the Nintendo eShop to pre-load the game. After that, it's just watching the clock to play the game!
I hope we were able to clear things up, let us know if you have any other questions!

I pre-ordered the digital copy of Animal Crossing: New Horizons back on Sunday March 15th, but have yet to get a followup email with a code for the digital download. Do you know what's going on with my order? I'm just worried since the game comes out tomorrow night and I still haven't heard back from BB at all here.

Hello all. I'd like to start the thread by stating what I had already done.
I had preordered Animal Crossing for the switch physically through Bestbuy for my girlfriend. The copy is being shipped as I write this and I can't be more happy with how soon that copy will be coming in (compared to Amazon and needing to pay extra for day-one access). Speaking of Amazon, my girlfriend had preordered a copy for me through there but then we ran into the issue of the game coming in delayed because we didn't opt in or even know about the day-one access thing. So I returned it and ordered a digital copy from Bestbuy with a $10 voucher since I had preordered the physical version earlier.
Now the thing is, this preorder happened earlier today. Roughly around 2pm. I'm in no complete rush to get the game code today but at the same time, Digital Library and the order confirmation email state that a code should have been sent in within 4 hours tops. I have checked my spam, refreshed the email, and refreshed the Digital Library in hopes that I'd get some code or even a reason for delay.
Is it possible to figure out what's the status on sending/recieving these digital download codes?

Update: JUST recieved the code. I apologize for any inconvinience this post may have caused. Hopefully people with issues similar to mine have their ends resolved soon!
