I preordered Animal Crossing New Horizons on December 21, 2018. The total with my gamers club was 50.53. I had to update my payment information on the order today because my card was expiring, so I had to input the new expiration date and the 3 digit number on the back of the card. I did this, no problem. However, when I went to my credit card page there were 2 pending charges from Best buy. 50.53 and 12.64. I haven't ordered anything else so I went to the best buy website and the order no longer shows the discount and I am being charged the full price of 63.17.
I called best buy and they said they can't do anything about it. Call back when the charge goes through (which is release date) and they can try then to refund the 12.64, but no promises.
I am extremely angry. I was a loyal customer for years. If they do not refund it, the game will be returned and I will NEVER shop there again. I will also make sure everyone knows not to trust them or to shop there. I cannot believe they are doing this.

Hello, motherx3,
Welcome back to the Best Buy Forums. It's been a while since we've heard from you!
It sounds like you received a great discount on your new game. I can understand wanting to keep that discount. In may cases, and order will not be processed through until the payment information has been cleared. Is there any chance that your Gamers Club Unlocked membership expired between the time of your order originally being placed and your payment information being updated? I'm wondering if this just happened to come down to timing.
Best,

Good afternoon, motherx3,
Thanks for elaborating! When an order is modified, it will typically go through a verification check and can potentially recalculate cost based on that check. For example, sometimes local tax rates may have changed. As you’re saying your GCU was no longer activated when you needed to update your form of payment, it sounds like when the system went through the verification process, it could no longer detect the discount since it was no longer available to you on your account.
With all of this said, I’ll be sending you a private message shortly to gather a couple of details and discuss this further.
Thanks,
