I purchased Metroid for $31.99 using GC and now it's on clearance through BestBuy and with Gamer's Club, is $20.79.
Is it not possible to price match GC to GC one to one? So 31.99 vs 20.79? I mean I can return the other game and rebuy it, but that just seems silly.

How long ago did you purchase it?
Just so your aware you cannot return opened games.
Our Price Match Guarantee covers new items (excludes clearance and open-box items). One price match per identical item, per customer, at the current pre-tax price available to all customers is allowed

I am aware opened games cannot be returned and it is still within the return period.
When price matching other retailers, Best Buy looks at the discount of GC before the price match, so it only makes sense that you would compare GC price to GC price.

If you have not opened it then take it in to return it would be the suggestion.
The price match guarantee does not cover Clearance Items such as this.
Chances are they will not have another in the store to sell you. However, they will probably not want to deal with a return of an item that is now on clearance and will probably just do the price match.
but it will probably not include the GCU discount.

Yeah I've already sunk way too much time into something so silly. I can rebuy online and then return in store and once my GC expires, Best Buy will just be an afterthought.

One should always migrate towards the better price in my mind.
With the $10 rewards BB is offering more and more on titles now tha GCU is done I will chose the best price.
Kind of perplexing you would be this upset

I prefer to buy from companies that have the best customer service. This has proven not to be the case with BB. I only began to purchase from them with the GC.
I value my time and the more time I sink into this silly little issue, the more I realize I just shouldn't buy from BB.
