GCU persistently does not work

Hi, I have an active GCU membership until January, but it doesn’t work(in store or online) unless I call and have it applied. These phone calls take 30-40 minutes each time and I’m always told that the issue is resolved, which it has never been.

I’m trying to find a live chat option but it doesn’t seem to exist. I ended up in Geek Squad’s chat and the agent told me I was in the wrong place, posted a link, then rudely ended the chat as I was typing which deleted the chat with the link.

What can I do to use my discount short of spending another 30 minutes on the phone each time I order a game?

Even more annoying is I’ll now have to pay extra to get this game when it releases by the time I have someone manually apply my discount.

I completely understand why you’d want to utilize your Gamer’s Club Unlocked (GCU) membership benefits as long as your subscription is still active, so it’s disappointing to hear you’ve been having trouble doing so. 


Assuming your gaming purchases have been linked to your My Best Buy™ account, and your GCU membership is still active, you should be receiving GCU benefits for your qualifying purchases.  While we’ll be unable to offer an alternate workaround at this time, if there are any orders you’ve placed recently that you believe should have received a discount for your GCU membership, please don’t hesitate to send us a private message with your first and last name, phone number, email address, and order number, and we’ll be happy to make sure you’re not missing out on any discounts you may be entitled to.
