Gamer's Club Unlocked membership ended early

Knowing that my GCU membership was ending soon, I just preordered a mess of video games--and was going to buy another bunch of already-released games, until I noticed that my GCU membership discount wasn't applied.

 

I bought my initial membership in-store on 11/6/14, and added another two years to my membership in June 2016. Why did my membership expire on the evening of 11/4/18? Shouldn't my GCU membership last two more days?

 

I have a scan of my initial receipt and an online order number for the extension, if those would help. Thank you!

If this is your first time posting, welcome to the forums, and thank you for being GCU members. As a fellow GCU member, going for one final game purchase before my membership expires is something I’ll likely do too, so I understand your disappointment if you went to do so and didn’t receive your discount.

 

We’ve only seen a handful of accounts with GCU memberships that expired before they should have, so we’ll be happy to take a look at your account if you didn’t see your discount apply when you went to make your final purchase.

 

That said, please know that we’re not able to reinstate or extend memberships, and are not able to accommodate discounts on any previous or new orders. Additionally, we will not be double checking account expiration dates upon request. If your discount did not apply in-store or online prior to the expiration date listed on your BestBuy.com profile, please send a private message to GamersClub-BBY verifying the following information.

Wish we knew this before our GCU expired. Too late now to put in our preorders.

My Gamer's Club discount also disappeared early.   Extrememly frustrating as I went online to preorder some games before it ran out.  I used text chat and called and either couldn't be helped or was given information that wasn't correct.

Yeah mine wasn't supposed to expire till right after Black Friday of this year on 11/24. I logged in today to order a game. Then saw that I wasn't getting the discount. So checked account details and it was gone. Disappointing.

Yeah, they really need to get on this.  If they want to cancel the program fine, but they need to honor what we paid for.

Gamers Club Unlocked not showing anymore and I was good till Dec 17,2019

Why did my GCU go away?  I purchased it in Dec 2017 and it's gone now.

I'm not sure why this thread seems to have been marked as "solved", when it very clearly has not been. No explanation for what caused the problem, no acceptable solution or compensation provided to those who were unfairly and without warning unable to use their PAID GCU discount within the specified term of enrollment, sent a private message with my information as requested and haven't even received the dignity of a response, and no further communication from Best Buy to the community as to why so many people seem to be having their GCU memberships mysteriously expire early. And for Best Buy to apparently try and gloss things over and pretend it's "solved" just adds insult to injury. Here's what might be a better, albeit unfortunate solution: customers taking their business elsewhere. For a store that I normally enjoy frequenting, and have almost always received great service from, this whole situation feels like quite a breach of trust, and is very disappointing indeed. I had come to expect better.

Yeah, I've sent two private messages and haven't gotten a response to either one.  My GCU is now officially expired, but my last order was place before it expired and did not get the discount.  This is just silly.

I haven’t gotten a response either from when I reluctantly placed a preorder BEFORE my subscription expired just so they couldn’t say it was too late to use it once it was fixed. I’ve literally already gotten the game and beaten it. So yeah what a slap to the face it was to wake up to an email that enthusiastically announced a solution, only to find nothing’s been done.
