Great question! As we get closer to the release date of all the next-gen consoles coming out this November, I’m sure other users on our Support Forums will have a similar question, so I’m glad you’ve reached out to us for clarification.
For starters, a PS4 game and it’s PS5 counterpart would have two completely different SKU numbers, and therefore would not be able to be swapped on an order. If you no longer need the PS4 version and are interested in picking up the PS5 version of the game you’re referring to, you’ll want to cancel your pre-order for the PS4 version of the game, and place a new order for the PS5 version. Our Get $10 in rewards program reviews whether or not the qualifying game you’ve purchased from us was pre-ordered, as well as a My Best Buy™ member when the game is shipped or picked up, before those bonus $10 rewards are applied to your My Best Buy™ account.
As for exchanging the game for the PS5 version when it’s released, please know this would likely result in the bonus $10 in rewards you received when pre-ordering the game with us.
