still not elite status

i've spent close to $1600 this year and im still $41 short for elite according to bestbuy site. So does the tax not count towards the $1500 to hit elite?

Re: still not elite status

Good afternoon, Bama89,

Welcome to the Best Buy forum, and thank you for connecting with us. Smiley Happy

That is a great question, and to answer your questions, yes!  We don't include sales tax or any portion of a purchase that is paid for with a gift card or certificate when determining if a member qualifies for Elite or Elite Plus status.  Also, keep in mind that it can take up to 20 days for an eligible purchase to reflect within your spend total, and if you were to spend the $1,500 needed to qualify for Elite status, it can take up to the same 20 days for your status to be upgraded.  Let us know if you have any other rewards program-related questions.

Best Wishes,
