Your thoughts on elite membership

Getting to buy some of the black friday merchandise early and extended returns are nice.  Other than that, I do not see that being an elite customer means you get treated any better.  I have had several bad experiences in the past few years and being elite does not matter to the people Best Buy makes you talk to.  Many times Best Buy does not even respond.  I was planning my purchases to see what I could get to make it back to elite plus, but then I realized

 

Best Buy does not act like they care about my business so why should I worry at all about elite plus?

 

While many companies are out trying to use Twitter and social media, Best Buy does not have employees who care to respond.  What kind of ceo would run a business like that?  Evidently that would be Hubert Joly.

I meant to add that I am interested in hearing what other elite and elite plus members think.  If you get great service and are happy with the program, please let me know.  If you are getting frustrated like me, I want to hear that also.

I like the Elite perks. If you saw my other post in the Early Black Friday Access thread, Derek from Best Buy messaged me quickly and was very engaged in helping me out. You will always get a mixed bag in the quality of service, but I would say the service has been good.

I do need to add though I figured out what was causing the problem but they are still looking into the reason for the issue. Any order if I have the Canon DSLR bundle then I would get an immediate order cancellation. No one knows why this is happening and I couldn’t purchase it.

I hope they get it figured out.  I was trying to get support on an order placed a week ago that has not been shipped yet while both my early access orders shipped within hours of placing them this morning. 

 

Your problem sounds more important than mine.  I am not an important person in life and in general, which is why the promise of elite treatment appeals to me.  I don't think Derek and Tasha have been fooled and I think they have figured out my meager importance.  Again, good luck on your buys.  I had planned to buy a laptop and the Google Home Hub in addition to the buys I made yesterday, but now I don't see the point.  The home hub was not included in the early access and the main reason I was going to buy the laptop from Best Buy was to help requalify for elite but as you can tell from my post, I am wondering why I should bother.  There is one I think is better at another vendor although it is a little more expensive.

Please feel free to post any ideas or suggestions you may have for the My Best Buy™ program to the IdeaX section of the forum.  We are always look for ways to improve the program for our members.  The program is not intended to cause our members to feel frustrated.  For example, moving the Early Access event to Sunday after having received feedback from our members over the years was intended as a way to allow more members the opportunity to participate while not having to worry about work on Monday.
