Stolen Best Buy Reward Certificates!

I have repeated had reward points/certificates stolen from my Best Buy Elite plus account, 5 times now! This is inspite of me changing my email address and password, as requested by Best Buy. Best Buy claimed they would require photo ID be a flagged requirment on my account for in-store purchases. This has NOT happened, since this same method of theft has recently occurred  again. Each time it is in a Maryland Best Buy. I also requested there be additional verification for use of my reward certificates by a phone call or text to my phone, but that too has NOT happened. 

 

It is clear to me that BEST BUY HAS NOT TAKEN THEFT OF THEIR REWARDS CERTIFICATES and HAS NOT TAKEN HACKING INTO THE BEST BUY REWARDS NETWORK SERIOUSLY!!!  I don't know if it a matter of "inside" corruption within the company or disinterest or incompetence, but it is the customer that ultimately pays, and in the end it is BEST BUY THAT WILL SUFFER WITH LOSS OF TRUST and CUSTOMERS. 

 

It has been nearly 20 days since my rewards certifcates were most recently stolen from my BEST BUY account and I reported it to BEST BUY, and nothing has been done by BEST BUY! It is a shame because I have otherwise enjoyed my shopping experience with BEST BUY, but it looks like if the coronavirus does not kill BESTBUY, BESTBUY's customer service will!

The details you have provided thus far regarding your rewards account is no-doubt a concern, and I don't disagree with you when saying it shouldn't take this long for your rewards account to be reviewed.  While everything going on in the world with COVID-19 has caused an uptick in our contact volume, it still shouldn't take nearly 20 days.  I would like to take a closer look your rewards account with you to see what can be done to restore your points and hopefully prevent a similar occurrence in the future.  Before I can do that though, I will need to gather some additional details, so I will be sending you a private message shortly.  You can read a private message by clicking on the envelope icon at the top of the page.
