One of the many perks that accompany the Elite Plus membership level is our 2-day free shipping option. Elite members can also receive free shipping with no minimum purchase required. If you're not in either of these tiers, we still sometimes offer free shipping for specific shipping options in select categories, or free shipping sitewide (for qualifying items, Core members can receive free shipping on purchases $35 and up).

I'm glad this information helped a bit! I definitely understand where you're coming from in regards to tier expiration. While Best Buy does not notify members via email when their status will expire, I would suggest posting your recommendation to our IdeaX page.
