Re: Banked rewards points redeemed and stolen

Hi, I just noticed on my account that this happened AGAIN to me as well.  It is definitely an inside job.  I have had this happen 3 prior times, all Maryland and I live in AZ.   Best Buy has had me change my email, phone number and also set up my account that only I could convert to certificates.      But, someone was able to buy Games in Maryland, didn't have to even access my account via the web, and stole my certificates like you.

I can't believe this continues to happen and they are not doing anything about catching these people.

Re: Banked rewards points redeemed and stolen

Hello, robinandrobert,

Thank you for reaching out regarding your My Best Buy reward certificates. Seeing these certificates issued and redeemed once again after the extensive steps that were taken during previous occurrences would be most frustrating, but I'm glad you've reached out to see what could be done.

As I'm sure you're aware, the first steps if you believe your account has been compromised is to change your password, not only to BestBuy.com but also your email account. You may also wish to enable 2-Step Verification. For more on this, you should feel welcome to review the post below.

I would be happy to further review this with you to see what else may be done to prevent further occurrences. Please keep an eye on your inbox in the top right corner of the page for my private message.

Sincerely,

Tasha|Social Media Specialist | Best Buy® Corporate
