Having trouble updating email

Im trying to update my primary email A long time ago i signed up using a yahoo email, 4 or 5 years ago i switched to using gmail for almost everything. I set up my gmail as my secondary email on my best buy account. I then set up my yahoo email to just forward everything to my gmail account so i dont have to monitor both. Recently was notified that yahoo is discontinuing this forwarding option so i want to switch my primary email to gmail. When i go to change my email i select the gmail account(currently secondaey) and click continue. When i do that i get prompted to enter my password in the last text box. When i enter my account password im told its wrong, however i know im entering my password correct because ive logged out and back into my account a couple time to be sure.
