Black Friday Early Access for My Best Buy™ members
It's baaaaaaaaack! The Black Friday Early Access event for our My Best Buy™ and Total Tech Support members is right around the corner. While the event hasn’t changed much year over year, we have compiled some of the more basic details and commonly asked questions to help make the entire process as smooth as possible. This will also be the official thread where members can post questions they may have leading up to and during the event.
Q: What day is the Black Friday Early Access event?
A: We haven’t announced the date yet, but you should be checking BestBuy.com and keeping an eye on your email and phone (if you have the Best Buy app) beginning the weekend before Black Friday.
Q: What time does the event start?
A: To ensure the best possible online experience we do not announce an official start time. Just picture those images we see on the news where hundreds of people are trying to fit through a store’s door on Black Friday. It can really slow things down for everyone involved. You should be periodically checking BestBuy.com and keeping an eye on your email and phone (if you have the Best Buy app) beginning the weekend before Black Friday.
Q: Who can participate in the event?
A: Any My Best Buy™ member with an active rewards account and existing Best Buy Total Tech Support members will have the opportunity to participate in the Early Access event. Our members who have reached Elite or Elite Plus status or have an existing Total Tech Support membership will have access to additional Black Friday deals.
Q: Where is the event being held? Can I go to my local store to participate?
A: More details will be announced when the event begins. You should be periodically checking BestBuy.com and keeping an eye on your email and phone (if you have the Best Buy app) beginning the weekend before Black Friday.
Q: What deals in the Black Friday ad will be available during the event?
A: We cannot provide any specifics until the event goes live but there will be hundreds of items available at Black Friday prices for Early Access.
Q: Can an order be placed on BestBuy.com for in-store pickup during the event?
A: In-store pickup will be available for some of the deals. If eligible, you will be able to choose in-store pickup during checkout.
Q: How do I access the Early Access event?
A: Sign into your rewards account via BestBuy.com or on the Best Buy app and click on a banner that should be on the front page.
Q: When can I expect to receive an email about the event?
A: An email is usually sent the night before or morning of the event. An email is not required though. To ensure you are opted in to receive emails from Best Buy, scroll to the bottom of BestBuy.com and enter your email address next to "Get the latest deals and more."
Q: Is there anything else I will need to do in-order to participate in the event?
A: Just make sure that your My Best Buy™ rewards account is properly linked to your BestBuy.com account.
If you are unsure as to whether or not your My Best Buy™ and BestBuy.com accounts are linked, then please send us a private message here and we will double check. We would just ask that you please include your name, phone #, mailing address, and email address. Otherwise, you should be good to go. Please feel free to post any additional questions you may have about the Black Friday Early Access event in this thread.
One more thing! Our phone lines will not be open until 7 a.m. Central Time the day of the event, including the Elite/Elite Plus dedicated phone line. If during past events you have called into us to place an order, then you will need to wait until at least 7 a.m. Central Time.
Don't miss out by making sure you are opted in to receive emails from Best Buy. Go to BestBuy.com, scroll to the bottom of the page, enter your email address, and click Sign Up.

Ok! The FAQ for this year's Black Friday Early Access event is up. Please take a moment to read over it, and if you have any specific questions about the event, then please post them here. Let's try to keep the FAQ free of clutter though by posting any suggestions or feedback you may have for the upcoming event to the IdeaX section of the forum. From what I read the people who spend $200 for the total tech support get the same access as the elite plus who spend $3500? Am I reading this right?
Actually according to what was posted above, anyone who even has the free My Best Buy Account will have the same access as us that have Elite or Elite Plus. Seems the benefits of having the higher status become lower and lower every year.

Ah .. I didn't see the part originally about additional deals. So its just a few extra things now instead of an extra day like it has been in the past ?

Correct! Rather than spread the Early Access event over the course of two days, this year's event will take place on one day. The benefits should essentially be the same though. Our members with Elite and Elite Plus status will still have access to a majority of the deals within our Black Friday ad while our members without Elite or Elite Plus status will have access to some of the deals but less. I am still waiting to hear additional details as far as what sort of deals members with a Total Tech Support (TTS) plan will have.

Every year for 10 years now I am told I will get an email and I never do. The only way I know anything about the Black Friday Early access is checking the forum. Considering I have had Elite status at a minimum for a decade and elite plus for 5 years you can imagine how much it upsets me that after how much I have spent I basically have to go searching to find out about the pre black friday access event for elite plus members
My account is linked every year I am told, every year I am subscribed yet every year I never get an email.

I would be happy to double check your rewards account again to make sure the information tied to it is up-to-date. Or if you would like to try an alternative email address just for the Early Access event, then I can help you make those changes. Otherwise, you may want to consider adding BestBuyInfo@emailinfo.bestbuy.com to your contact list and make sure any spam filters your email account may have are temporarily turned off.
The official email is generally sent out a few hours up to a day prior to the event, and while the email is not needed to access the event, it can obviously make for a great reminder to our members. I would encourage you to keep an eye on your email starting this weekend and periodically check BestBuy.com for updates. Please send a PM here with your name, phone #, mailing address, and email address if you would like us to check your rewards account.
