At this time, we are not extending tier expirations or offering any compensation. While there's still some time left in 2020, we encourage you to visit BestBuy.com or your local store to make eligible purchases that count towards your spend total. As Allison mentioned, there aren't any current plans to extend Elite and Elite Plus statuses due to the COVID pandemic. The same can be said for certificate expiration dates, which also haven't been extended. While some of our store locations were completely shut down during the initial wave, the option to place orders on BestBuy.com for shipping, or in some locations curbside pickup, was still available during 2020. There are also ways outside of purchasing with Best Buy to qualify for a higher tier status. If a member were to have the My Best Buy Visa card, they could qualify by making purchases outside of Best Buy. A member could actually qualify for Elite status by purchasing groceries or even by paying bills with their Visa.
