Where is my tv? Why can’t I get a refund?

I purchased a refrigerator, washer, dryer, and tv in July 6th. The appliances were delivered and installed when they were supposed to. However, from day one, I have been having problems obtaining the tv. I do understand that the specific one I bought is back ordered (but why was I allowed to purchase it in the first place? Shouldn’t it have been marked “sold out” or “not available” as it is currently on bestbuy.com?). If I can’t get a straight answer in when the tv is available, I should at least be able to get a refund for my purchase, right? Apparently not. We have spent a ridiculous amount of time on hold trying to resolve the issue. The associate I spoke to was unable to schedule a delivery and also unable to cancel my order outright and so forwarded my problem to the “back office”. I got an email this am from customer care saying that I need to call the home theater team, which was who the problem was escalated from. This is ridiculous that I’ve had to waste so much time to get no where. It’s been 3 weeks and I have no tv and can’t get a refund.

Welcome to our Best Buy forum community! We know that it's a big deal to purchase new appliances and a TV, so we're honored that you decided to place your order with us! That said, it hurts me to hear that your shopping experience hasn't been the stress-free one we intended. 

 

As someone who usually counts down the days until a new product arrives, I can imagine how I would feel if I got a TV, only to learn that it was out of stock, and there would be a delay before the order could be fulfilled. That sounds less than ideal, so I can certainly understand why you'd want to know your options at this point.
