Stolen package

Hello,

I live in Germany and ordered a MacBook Air to be shipped to my son's house in Texas.  The order number is {removed per forum guidelines}.  My son and his wife were aware of the impending delivery and were at home all day.  He received an SMS message indicating that the package had been delivered, despite nobody coming to the house.  Upon receiving the SMS, he immediately went to the door and saw no package and no FedEx truck.  He has large dogs and if a vehicle stops in front of the house the dogs bark, so we know nobody ever came to the house.  I downloaded the proof of delivery from Fedex and it says it was signed for by "mkay" at 16:08 on 15NOV22.  After trading messages via the BestBuy chat, I contacted FedEx and opened a lost parcel inquiry {removed per forum guidelines} and was notified that their investigation gave no result and if my parcel was not found to contact the shipper (BestBuy) to initiate lost package procedures.  My son has filed a police report {removed per forum guidelines}.  There is nothing else we can do, and I never received my purchase. My next step is to contact my Credit Card company and contest the charge.

 

How will BestBuy resolve this situation?

My number is {removed per forum guidelines} (Germany, +6hrs from East Coast time)
My son {removed per forum guidelines}. I used his number when I ordered and shipped to his address.
