In June 2021, I purchased a large upright freezer from Best Buy and the associate scheduled the delivery for July 3.
On the delivery date the two delivery men/installers arrived promptly however they were very rushed to setup my new freezer and remove the old.
During this process quite a few things went awry. Most importantly was the damage done to my special ordered, exterior doors. The door frame, was hit by the freezer which resulted in a large gouge in the doorframe, the door itself also got damaged with scuff marks, scratches and paint chips.
The other damages that occurred was a dent in my new freezer (I’m not putting in a claim for that since the freezer is in my basement and not a focal point in my home.)
Also during the installation the men miscalculated the ceiling clearance and hit the fluorescent light fixture causing the light bulbs to shatter all over the floor and rugs.
The men were kind enough to carry up the rugs to shake them out however they did it on my driveway and small shards of glass were everywhere. I actually had to use a vacuum in my driveway so I wouldn’t get flat tires or glass shavings dragged back into my house. I also had to clean up the glass from my basement.
Before I had a chance to talk to the installers about the damage, they were on their way to their next stop.
I immediately called Best Buy and got the phone number to file a claim. Here we are now in September and I need to get this resolved before winter.
