I just recently ran into this issue, yesterday! I have had several screen protectors replaced on my iPad pro by the same Best buy store. They always looked my information up to make sure I brought the original screen protector from them. This time they were dead set on charging me and my mom 7.99. They did not look up our information or anything. I even asked to speak to a manager and explained I have came to this Best buy and had several different employees replace my screen protector and have never had to pay but just to have the 1st original install. Of course he sided with his employees! It's ridiculous to have a policy and have certain employees choose whether or not they want to honor it! I was told just like you that you pay for the 1st installation and the replacements after that are free! I got the Zagg screen protector from Best buy, too!

Welcome to the Best Buy Community forums. I’m sorry that you had such a bad experience at your local Best Buy regarding your screen protector install.


To be clear, if a screen protector was installed by us and it needs to be replaced, the reinstallation will be free as long as there is a receipt indicating that you paid for the initial install. In many cases we can look that receipt up if you no longer have a copy. What is not covered is the screen protector itself. You’ll generally need to go directly through Zagg to get your replacement, or purchase a new protector.

Thank you! They usually do look me up in their computer systems and see I purchased the original screen protector from them, but this time they were dead set on charging and didn't even try to look up any of my info. The manager wasn't even any kind of help.
