Question as to if 100 lb 85" TB can be mounted to dry wall with metal studs for full motion mount

Hello,

I have an upcoming TV mount and installation of a  Sanus - Premium Series Advanced Full-Motion TV Wall Mount Model: BLF328-S1 SKU: 6332599 coming up next week with Best Buy Geek Squad in my home.

This particular home has dry wall with metal studs, rather than wooden studs.  It will be a mounted 85" 100 pound TV on the full-motion Sanus mount I described above.

I have subsequently learned that mounting TVs on metal studs is potentially more difficult and may limit choices of mounts.  I am somewhat concerned this might be an issue to the installers.

My questions with this are:

1) Is it possible to communicate to my installers in advance that I have drywall with metal studs, so they can advise me if that is an issue or otherwise be sure to come equipped for that if it is an issue?

2) Might that cost more to install?

3) Are there any foreseeable issues with my choice of that Sanus full motion mount and my drywall with metal studs, in which I may need to consider using a different mount?

Thank you

Re: Question as to if 100 lb 85" TB can be mounted to dry wall with metal studs for full motio

Also to add, I tried calling the 800-433-5778 number a few times, and the associates at that phone number there tried to help reach my assigned installer to relay this question but it kept going to voicemail every time I tried to have them reach out and I have not heard anything back.

I also tried calling the phone number of the store, who tried to reach out as well for an answer, but I have not heard back from that either.

Perhaps I'll keep my appointment and have a more simple flat mount on hand, and a metal stud TV mount install kit that I'll pick up so the installers can use those if my Sanus mount does not work, and if I wind up not needing those extra parts, simply return them unopened for a refund.

It would be great to know if metal studs presents an issue ahead of time though, or at least know that my installer is aware of this in advance so they can prepare.

Hi there, wearedevo,

Thank you for reaching back out to us here on our Forums Page. I believe they should be equipped to drill into a metal stud, however I'd ask them once they arrive to be sure.

Please let me know if I can provide any additional information here.

Thank you!
