Over the range microwave installation gone wrong

Hello,

 

The contractors for the installation messed up my install. I trusted them up until I told them that our microwave needed to have the extractor fan switched manually to the front. He told me "no all you need to do is put a metal cover on the top and it switches direction." Well one messy installation later, the airflow is really bad. I attempted to get the mircrowave down to fix it myself and I couldn't even get that done because they some how messed up screwing the thing in. They drilled three holes, without the help of the already printed guide, and they did one hole so wrong that screw is now bent and I have no wait to get it out. I need to find out if I can have someone else come over and fix this issue.

Ha--we had the opposite problem--our microwave has to vent outside and the installed insisted that it could only vent into the house, and when we called for support (the installer) we were told on the phone the same thing. Now they are ghosting us. We have lived here for 20 years, this is our third microwave, they have always vented outside. We are furious that we were treated like idiots, they messed up the installation, and now they won't respond to us or fix it. Ridiculous.
