Inventory Issues

To whom it may concern,

 

I ordered a dryer GTD42GASJWW on Monday February 5th, when I ordered it was expected for delivery to El Cajon on Febreary 8th. Late in the evening I was informed that the order was delayed.  As this was not the first strore (not Best Buy) to do this to me in the last few weeks I still made my way to the store to discuss what was going on with my order.  I am glad I did because upon arrival I was informed that they no longer had a delivery date for my ordered dryer.  As before mentioned I had cancelled two other order with other stores that had informed me of delivery of 3-4 weeks expecting an order from Best Buy to be fulfilled within 3 days of ordering. Upon discussing with staff I learned that the store had no contact with the warehouse and could not guarantee if I ordered today if the delivery would in fact occur on the 13th. With my back up against the wall with little else to do I went ahead and ordered the dryer with the hopes that finally it will actually be delivered on time on the 13th. 

 

My complaint and suggestion lies in the following.  There needs to be better communication between the warehouse staff and the staff in the stores.  The other issue is the fulfillment of products in correlation with the date that is available online. Another suggestion is that in extreme circumstances the staff should be allowed to sell display models, as I was told the staff could not sell display models due to vendors requiring the items to be on display. Which is more important vendors or a paying customer?

 

On a positive note the staff at the location where I purchased the dryer were very personable and did the best they could to alleviate the situation even though I may have been less than kind to them for things that were out of their control. They also tried to make things right by giving me a gift card for my troubles.
