Yesterday, we had a washer and dryer installed. I was at work, which just left my wife home alone while the installers did their work. Everything was going smoothly until one of the installers approached my wife, telling her that the dryer needed a water hose for the steamer function and that it would cost her $20 cash for him to install one.
"If you've got $20, I'll put it on now."
Not sure what to do, she refused and told him that she'd wait until I got home and that if we needed something extra, I'd go out and get it myself. A few minutes later, he came to her saying that he'd installed it anyway for free to do us a favor.
When I got home, she told me about this and I looked at the dryer manual only to find that this hose was an included accessory.
This is the kind of help Best Buy hires? Oil-change-level scam artists looking to take advantage of a woman because they assume she doesn't know better?
After spending $2,000 on this and going over everything with the sales people in the store for a half hour to make sure I had everything I needed for the install, this is completely unacceptable. I spent nearly $100 on hose kits, gas line kits, and duct kits only to have this installer try to sell me a hose that came with the appliance?

Oh my goodness! I am not shocked at all because I’m still trying to get Best Buy insurance company to pay me for damage the INSTALLATION Company they hired to screw up my plumbing which caused water damage to my cabinet...this is totally unacceptable and all of us need to put out the word about Best Buy so called installation company.

It is crazy. And they don't seem to care about it at all. It seems like, even though we paid for installation and delivery services, we--as buyers--assume all the risk. This is the second time we've had issues with a Best Buy installer and it's definitely the last. I honestly can't bring myself to pay them to send criminals and con artists into my house.

This is not the experience we want our clients to have, especially not in your home which is supposed to be a safe space. If you would like to send us a private message using the link in my signature, and confirm your phone number, full name, and email address. I want to get this information over to the delivery manager immediately.
