I just want a dishwasher delivered and installed

Ordered a dishwasher on on 11/22/2020. Scheduled deliver and installation for Thursday 12/10/2020. On the morning of the day of delivery I received a phonecall from who I believe was doing the delivery stating that on inspection of the dishwasher it appeared to be damaged. He told me that I would get a notice from Bestbuy in the next 24 hours. 

Used the Bestbuy online chat and called on Friday 12/11/2020. Was told to wait 24-48 hours for an update. Never got an update.

Called customer service on Tuesday 12/15/2020. Was told they would escalate the case. Gave me a case number {removed per forum guidelines}. Told me to wait another 24-48 hours.

Called customer service on Wednesday 12/16/2020. Was hung up three times when redirected to an agent. When the call finally went through the guy basically told me 24 hours hasn't been up yet. Call again later.

Called again Friday 12/18/2020. Agent said something about two requests to the warehouse not receiving responses. Told me I could get this resolved easier if I went to a physical Bestbuy location.

Saturday 12/19/2020. Went to Bestbuy on 7357 W Towne Way, Madison, WI. Told them all the above. A guy in the appliances section told me to go home and wait for a phonecall. Never received that phonecall.


My current dishwasher has been broken since Thanksgiving, and I'm sick of handwashing dishes. I've been very proactive in dealing with this issue. At this point I still don't know what I'm waiting for. I haven't received any updates or notifications from Bestbuy. Last time I checked the dishwasher I ordered was still in stock. I don't know why we can't just get a replacement and reschedule an expedited installation date. I don't know why I have to deal with these inventory issues.

Thanks for posting with us here on the Best Buy forum! I remember well the chapped hands from excessive dishwashing by hand, so I totally hear where you’re coming from in wanting your dishwasher delivered and installed ASAP.


Typically, there is a small delay when rescheduling orders so that they can be moved in our systems from the “in transit” status the day of the first appointment to a modifiable status. That usually happens within 24 hours of the delivery day so it’s strange to hear you are still unable to reschedule. I’d love to look into this further to see what is happening and straighten it out.
