On 7/21/21 I had a Geek Squad appointment set up in your Plymouth Meeting office for a in home visit on 7/28/21 between the hours of 7:00 a.m and 1:00 p.m. Prior to 11:00 a.m. I received a call from Preston who told me they were about 20 minutes away. They were not from the Geek Squad but an independent contractor. I certainly have no problem with you sub-contracting out your work, but I definitely think your customers should be informed the technichians are not from the Geek Squad but from a compay that has been sub-contrcted for the work. These gentlemen did not have any form of ID that indicated they represented Best Buy, they did not wear uniforms of any type and did not have badges that showed what compay they represented and they did not have any tools which I think are necessary for installation. I am certain you and all of your employees know what type of enviornment we currently live in. Had my husband and the contractor working in our home not been in the house these gentlemen would not have been admitted. This is the second time I was expecting a member of the Geek Squad team only to receive service from a sub-contractor. I paid $199.00 for a years service and I'm beginning to wonder why. In the future I must request and require that the technichians be members of the Geek Squad or that you in writing inform me that the technichians being sent are from a company that represents you. I certainly don't think that too much to ask for.

Good afternoon, joebird2030,
Welcome to our community forums. I appreciate you taking the time to reach out to us to let us know about your recent experience with the Geek Squad. As a Total Tech Support Member myself, I know I've had quite a few different in-home services completed this summer.
When choosing Best Buy for delivery, installation or repair, your service may be performed by either Geek Squad or one of our authorized, independent third-party contractors. These contractors are expected to adhere to the same safety precautions as our employees. While I am not aware of a method to notify you in writing of the Agents who will visit your home, I would recommend visiting our IdeaX where you can submit this idea so we can see if it's possible to implement in the future.
Please let us know if we can ever be of assistance in the future with any purchases or services, we're here to help!
