Dishwasher damaged on delivery

I ordered a dishwasher on 7/31/21 and it was scheduled to be delivered and installed on 8/25/21. The delivery/installation crew showed up on time but while unpacking the dishwasher discovered the new unit was damaged. It looked like it was thrown off a moving truck. I refused delivery and asked for a new undamaged product to be delivered and installed. The installation crew was very professional and understanding of the situation and they packed the dishwasher back up and took it with them. The installers gave me a number to call to obtain a new delivery/installation date of an undamaged product. This is where the fun began. When I called I was told they showed the dishwasher was already delivered and I needed to return the old dishwasher in order to have it exchanged. I told them that the dishwasher was damaged and that the installation crew took it with them. This exchange happened over the course of several hours of long hold times and several hang ups on their end. I finally got a new delivery and installation date to occur on 8/28/21. Later I started to receive texts to call and set up an installation date and the long holds and several hang ups again occured. I finally once again got a new installation/delivery date only now it would occur on 9/22/21. A few hours later I again received texts to call in and setup a delivery/installtion date and the hold and waits occured again. The new delivery date was to occur even later in September at which point I told them to cancel the order and give me my money back. I was transfered to somebody else to obtain my refund but was told that in order to receive that refund I needed to return the dishwasher that they showed was delivered on 8/25/21. I explained the the dishwaher they delivered was damaged and taken away by the installation crew. At some point I finally convinced them that the dishwasher was not in my possession and they would issued me a refund and I should see that in 48 hours. That was on 8/27/21 and I still have not seen that refund. I went to a local TV/Appliance store on 8/28/21 and purchased a new dishwasher and found a refrigerator I really liked and bought both. They will be delivered and installed tomorrow. I have dealt with this store in the past on other large purchases and have always been happy with their service. I should never have gone to Best Buy just because I was saving a few bucks. I will never purchase any large ticket items from them again EVER!!! On the way home from making my purchases of my new dishwasher and fridge I received a phone call again from Best Buy informing me I need to setup an installation date for my non existent dishwasher. I once again went thru all the phone hassle and explaining I cancelled the order and I don't have the dishwasher etc. I was once again told that everything was cancelled and I would be receiving a refund.

As of today and right this minute the Best Buy website shows I need to setup an installation date for my dishwaher that was delivered 8/25/21. Nothing showing I asked for and or received a refund. The frustration level and terrible service has convinced me that once I get this all straightened out I will never again have any dealings with this outfit. How Best Buy stays in business is beyond me
