Damaged microwave received, Best Buy refusing to repair or replace

I received a microwave in July, which I ordered because the magnetron was failing on our existing microwave. However, it held out longer than expected and as a result, we just opened our $550 microwave over Thanksgiving just to discover that the internal glass on the microwave door is broken. Best Buy is refusing to assist in anyway because it is past the 14 day return window offered at the time the microwave was purchased. I find it completely unacceptable that Best Buy is refusing to take responsibility for an item that is damaged out of the box. The microwave is clearly brand new, but because I didn’t open the box and check for damage immediately upon arrival, Best Buy is refusing to offer any support. I’d love it if they would simply authorize for the repair to be covered, but they won’t even do that. They tell me to reach out to Samsung because it should be covered by Samsung’s one year parts and labor warranty. Samsung sent a tech who refused to touch it even though he had the part to repair it because it was damaged during shipping and that’s Best Buy’s responsibility. I’ve been a loyal customer of both Best Buy and Samsung, but if this issue is not satisfactorily resolved, I won’t purchase another product from either again.
