Can't Reschedule an Installation for a Delivery?

I've talked to customer service via the online chat a few times for this issue, but in all cases it seems like the individuals had no idea how to help. I don't think it's their fault - I think there's a weird policy that's not been explained to me about a purchase.


A few weeks ago, I purchased a new TV with a sound bar, along with installation for both. The people who came to install the TV said that unfortunately the sound bar wasn't ready, so it would need to be installed -- or delivered -- later. I figured it would just be easier for delivery instead of a full installation appointment.


To confirm here: I don't need any new schedules or appointments for the sound bar. I just want it delivered to my home address. I don't need a custom install; I don't need someone to be there; I really just need the sound bar to be sent as a package and I'll set it up myself.


Easier said than done! Every time I've asked customer service online in the past week to cancel any appointments and just deliver the sound bar, they've said that delivery dates are "too far in the future", which is odd since when I ordered the TV and sound bar, there were both floor models and boxes in the store. I can understand if the sound bar is out of stock, but if they are not, then I'm very very confused why Best Buy can't simply put one in a box and ship it.


Has anyone encountered this weird situation before? Should I just cancel the sound bar entirely, go to my local Best Buy, and pick it up there? Seems like a bizarre thing to have to do.
