I'm trying to figure out this issue with COI.  I was supposed to have a delivery yesterday (NYC area) and the driver called and said that I need to provide a COI for the delivery. Isn't the COI supposed to be from Best Buy/Delivery Company to my building?  Not the other way around?

Hello, kamc888,

Thanks for sharing this experience with us. It’s my understanding that a Certificate of Insurance (COI) is a document that verifies the existence of an insurance policy. In my experience, some apartment buildings and home owners associations require delivery teams to provide a COI prior to allowing in home services like appliance or home theater deliveries.

Regarding your situation, do you know if your building requires a COI? What you’re saying does sound a little confusing, but it’s possible that a driver could be turned away upon arrival if the correct documentation process has not been followed. Typically, customers can download a copy of Best Buy’s COI from our website here. If you’re still in need of assistance in this situation, please send me a private message with your full name, phone number, email address, and order number.
