I recently purchased the TCL 55 inch 5 series tv and had it delivered yesterday. The box and seals all seemed to look new but when I was looking at the back of the tv to mount it I noticed the screws to the back panel were already stripped and parts of the back panel were scratched from some sort of tool. Its very clear that the TV was NOT new. I spent my afternoon trying to have support (4 different support people) help me with this issue but the system hadnt updated yet so I was told that I'd have to contact support again at a later time. Their solution was to just exchange the TV but that doesnt change the fact that Best Buy was trying to sell a used tv as new. That seems very unethical to me and to be honest I dont know if I'd even be getting a new TV in an exchange if this is how Best Buy opperates.
I dont think support is taking this issue seriously since "just exchange it" is their solution. I would think Best Buy would want to clear this up but so far I've been blown off by any of the support people that I've talked to. I'm to the point where I think I may just return the tv and never do business with Best Buy again.
