Best Buy Claim

Hello,

 

I had Geek Squad come install some things I purchased.  Unfortunately, they damaged my tv in the process.  Best Buy has a 3rd party handle their claims.  The company I'm working with is Sedgwick.  They have been very challenging to communicate with!  I have 2 questions I wanted to see if someone could help me with:

 

1)  How long should it take to get the claim resolved?  I filed it on Dec 7th and its still open

2)  What methodology does Best Buy use to determine the value of the tv they damaged?  From what I gather the most common is "Replacement Cost Value" (RCV) or "Actual Cost Value" (ACV).  Or is there some other methodology?

Thank you for posting on our forum for support. I hate to hear your TV was damaged during an installation. I can understand wanting to have this claim resolved as soon as possible, and I'm happy to help as best as I can with your questions.

 

Since we provide these claims to Sedgwick, they are handled separately from Best Buy and therefore remain unbiased. We do not have the ability to work with the adjusters, as this is a third party insurance company. That said, I will be unable to speculate on how long it takes to get a claim resolved. 

You're welcome to call (877) 308-5510 for existing claims to get an update, provide information on an estimate, etc. That number is available 24/7. If you're still not able to receive an update on your claim, please reach back out to me through private message and include your full name, email, phone number, and claim number.

That is the number I've been calling.  Every time I call I'm told someone will call me back within 24 hours.  I haven't received a single call back.

This Best Buy forum consists of alleged "media specialists" seeking to deceive others as to manipulate or control by deceptive and dishonest means. They pretend to assist or address the innumerable complaints, yet it is nothing more than a ruse to entrap the unsuspecting. Not any will get any assistance here, rather an excessive amount of ghost stories: "All who work with or for Best Buy".
