Absolute Nightmare of an install

I had decided to get a dash camera installed by Bestbuy on July 10th. I had an appointment at Bestbuy at  83 S Tunnel Rd, Asheville, NC, at 10:00 am. The install took until 5:30 pm to finish, which is completely ridiculous for a dash camera install. The entire time at this Bestbuy, I had nowhere to sit as the auto tech would not let me back into the garage area to sit. So, I had to spend 7 hours walking around Bestbuy waiting on my dash camera to be installed. Every time I inquired about how the install was progressing, the auto tech would estimate an hour and a half. At least he did until around 2:00 pm when he finally informed me that he didn't know when it would be done because the "wires weren't cooperating." The auto tech didn't even acknowledge me when the car was done. A different employee had to give me the keys, which made me instantly suspicious of what happened during the install. The install was finally done at 5:30 pm and I was able to drive a total of 20 feet before messages started to appear on my dashboard. I had an electric braking system message appear which recommended that I see my dealership immediately. I also noticed that my signal lights weren't working, as well as my hazard lights. The reason for my signal lights not working was actually a blown fuse. I have reasons to believe the auto tech didn't unhook my battery before trying to hardwire my dash camera. The hardwire cables weren't used in the final installation. I believe the auto tech tried to hardwire my dash camera to my battery and didn't know how, so he gave up and used the 12v cable to power my dash camera. Even though he didn't use the hardwire cables I never had them returned to me. He also placed the rear camera upside down, so all the footage from the rear is completely upside down. I was able to get an appointment for the dealership to diagnose my car on July 14th. They informed me that the brake hold/ parking brake was completely fried. The cause could have been something spilled on it, and I have never had spilled anything liquid in my car, and that message didn't appear until after the dash camera install done by Bestbuy. The dealership informed the total cost of the repair would be $319. I am absolutely furious with my experience at Bestbuy, not only did they blow a fuse, but they actually manage to destroy my parking brake. The customer service at this Bestbuy, in particular, is horrible, as I have tried multiple times to contact them, but they are not accepting calls at this location and they are not answering my email.

Thank you for joining our forum and posting about your dash camera installation. I hate to hear about the issues you encountered following your appointment, as this would definitely be concerning. This is far from the experience we want for our customers, and I can understand wanting to follow up on what happened. I'm hoping I can help now.

To start, please send me a private message including your full name, email, phone number, and order number. You can find the blue option to message me to the right of my name below.
