6 months and still no installation

I ordered a washer and dryer back in August of 2021. It finally came in stock in October and was set to be delivered. I confirmed with Best Buy that the delivery company should call my builder, not me, upon arrival three times prior to the scheduled delivery. They called me. And when I caught the call 15 minutes later and called back, they said they left and wouldn’t come back that day. Then they released my washer back into inventory and it was allocated to someone else’s order. Then when they came to deliver the dryer they refused to even bring it into the house and insisted on leaving it in the garage. <br><br>Fast forward to January - still no washer. After several calls and hours in the phone with customer service, I finally went to the Best Buy that I ordered it from and worked with someone for two hours until they were able to setup a return and a purchase for a different set. Then I waited a month for it to be delivered. <br><br>On delivery day, the vendors refused to install it. Claiming that my BRAND NEW AND RECENTLY INSPECTED home was not up to code. They refused to speak to the city inspector to confirm that it was up to code and left. Now, weeks later Best Buy is telling me I have to wait another month for another installer to come out. <br><br>And after all of this, not one person has compensated me for my time, my expense for laundry or offered an actual solution to get the units installed more quickly. <br><br>During this time I also ordered a treadmill and waited several weeks for installation. The installation day came and the window went - without a call from anyone. So I call best buy and after several hours of back and forth between best buy and the delivery company, it turns out they went to pick up the treadmill that morning and the warehouse hadn’t prepped it for pickup. Now I’m being told I have to wait another month for an installation!! Oh and was I charged? YES!! For a product I haven’t even gotten!!<br><br>After spending tens of thousands with Best Buy over the past year. I am NEVER shopping there again! The service has been horrific - everything is someone else’s fault!! No one is helpful!!

Good morning!

Thanks for joining our community here on the Best Buy Forums. As the person who does the laundry for my household, I can understand the importance of having your washer delivered and installed ASAP. I am happy to look into this situation further!

To start, please send a private message with your full name, phone number, and email address, along with the order number (if you have it). You should be able to do this by clicking the blue button near my signature.

Best,

Re: 6 months and still no installation

They said the laundry space required a vent. The town inspector said there is enough airflow under the door and through the panes in the door that it didn’t. Either way, I even agreed to the vent and they said they couldn’t do it that day!! Essentially they arrived late and claimed they couldn’t do anything because it was too late in the day (1:30pm) and they didn’t have the right parts to install the machine anyway. They also said they’d come back the next day but then they didn’t answer the phone and told Best Buy (not us) that they wouldn’t come back!

Re: 6 months and still no installation

Vent as in for the dryer?

If so.. might want to question the inspector..

All dryers need a vent. Gas dryers expell carbon monoxide as well as moisture. Electric dryers just moisture. Even if there is enough airflow to counter the carbon monoxide the humidity itself is enough to damage a room. I have never heard of an inspector that would allow a gas dryer with no vent.
