What qualifies?

Your product may be eligible for price matching if it is:

  

Identical to the competitor's product.

The product must be a matching brand, model number and color to qualify. The product must also be a new product.

 

Immediately available at a qualifying online retailer, or a local competitor.

We match local retail competitors (including their online prices) and these qualifying online retailers: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com and TigerDirect.com.

 

Not shown on our exclusions list.

Exclusions apply including, but not limited to, items sold by Marketplace vendors, competitors’ service prices, special daily or hourly sales, and items for sale the Friday before Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving.

While online, find a qualifying product that you want BestBuy.com to price match. Make sure the product you would like to price match is an immediately available new product and is identical to our competitor's product (it must be a matching brand with identical model number and color). BestBuy.com orders are available for price matching by online chat or by phone.

 

2. Chat to Request a Price Match

Connect with us via Best Buy Chat. Please be prepared to direct us to the ad or website that is displaying the current lower price you would like to match. You can also call 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289) for a BestBuy.com price match request.

2. Show us in store.

Visit any Best Buy or Pacific Sales store and present the qualifying competitor's ad or website, with the lower price that is still in effect, to any of our employees. We will then review and verify the price match request.

We'll match the product prices of key online and local competitors for immediately available new products (excludes clearance, refurbished and open-box items).

 

Special considerations:

  • At the time of sale, we price match all local retail competitors (including their online prices), and we price match products shipped from and sold by these major online retailers: Amazon.com, Crutchfield.com, Dell.com, HP.com and TigerDirect.com.
  • We match our online and app prices on in-store purchases and our in-store prices on online and app purchases.
  • If we lower our in-store, online or app price during the return and exchange period, we will match our lower price, upon request.
  • Our Price Match Guarantee covers new items (excludes clearance, refurbished and open-box items). One price match at the time of purchase, per identical item, per customer, at the current pre-tax price available to all customers is allowed.

 

Our Price Match Guarantee does not cover:

  • The online prices of retailers not listed in the Special considerations section.
  • Products shipped from or sold by third-party sellers on websites.
  • Pricing only available to select groups of customers including Membership Program members, loyalty offers, discounts relating to non-warehouse membership or paid loyalty programs and government exchange store offers.
  • Transactions from Best Buy Education, Best Buy Business and from a Best Buy Marketplace store on a third-party website (e.g., Amazon, eBay, Google).
  • Competitor offers including contract cell phones, service prices (including delivery and installation charges), pre-order offers, rent/lease to own items, liquidation offers, trade-in offers, items denoted as Black Friday pricing and special daily or hourly sales.
  • Any financing offers, bundle offers, items included in bundle offers, subscription services,  free items, pricing errors, mail-in offers, coupon offers, items that are advertised as limited quantity, out of stock items, clearance items, open-box items, refurbished items, pre-owned items, credit card offers, gift card offers, items included in gift card offers, Point of Sale Activation cards, video game discounts related to a membership program, voice-only deals, and items for sale the Friday before Thanksgiving Day through the Monday after Thanksgiving, whether offered by us or a competitor.

How do I request a price match from BestBuy.com?

When making a purchase, or during the return and exchange period, price match requests from BestBuy.com are handled via online chat or phone. Please tell us about the lower price that is still in effect that you want us to price match. We will then review and verify the price match request. By phone, call ((888-BEST BUY) (888) 237-8289) for a BestBuy.com price match request. Online chat price match requests must be made by the product purchaser. We reserve the right to limit price match online chat requests.

 

BestBuy.com price match requests cannot be completed in our stores or via e-mail. Shipping/delivery charges will not be included in the price comparison. Purchases from a Smartphone application/website, and BestBuy.com orders with store pickup are considered BestBuy.com purchases for purposes of the Price Match Guarantee. A price match request after a purchase for items shipped to the customer can only be requested by the purchaser (the person who was listed in the "Bill To" section of the order).

 

How do I request a price match from a Best Buy or Pacific Sales retail store?

When making a purchase, or during the return and exchange period, please talk to a Customer Specialist or go to the Customer Service desk for help with your price match request. Please tell us about the lower price that is still in effect that you want our retail store to price match. We will then review and verify the price match request. A price match request after a purchase at a store for items shipped to the customer can only be requested by the purchaser (the person who was listed in the "Bill To" section of the order).

 

What is considered a local retail competitor?

A local retail competitor for retail store purchases is a retail store authorized by a vendor to sell a new, factory-sealed product with a warranty and is located in the same market area (within a 25-mile radius) of your local Best Buy or Pacific Sales store. A local retail competitor for BestBuy.com purchases is a retail store authorized by a vendor to sell a new, factory-sealed product with a warranty and is located in the same market area (within a 25-mile radius) as either the billing address or the shipping address on record for the purchase.

 

Do you match the prices of a Warehouse club?

Yes. We do match the prices of Warehouse clubs as long as the Warehouse club is a local retail competitor, has an identical immediately available product and all other price match criteria are met. If the Warehouse club website price requires a membership ID or login to view, price match is only available in our store (not via phone or chat) and must be a live offer (not a screenshot).

 

Do you match the price if it results in a price being below your cost on a product?

Yes. So long as the price match requested is on an identical immediately available product and all other price match criteria are met.

 

After my purchase can I price match more than once during my return and exchange period?

Yes. If all other price match criteria are met, you can price match multiple times during the return and exchange period.

 

Will you price match with the Best Buy mobile app?

Yes. The Best Buy mobile app has the same pricing and is treated the same as BestBuy.com.

 

Are competitors' services eligible for price matching?

No. Due to the differences in services being performed, we do not match competitors’ service prices. This includes, but is not limited to, services such as delivery, installation and computer services.

 

How does your price match policy apply to purchases made using Store Pickup?

If you purchase a new item at BestBuy.com (which includes a purchase from a smartphone application/website, BestBuy.com orders with Store Pickup, and orders from the kiosk inside a Best Buy store) and if the item is offered at a lower price in the store or at BestBuy.com when you pick it up, you may request a price match. Some exclusions apply.

 

How does your price match policy cover an item scheduled for delivery?

If we drop the price of an item we sold you at any time before its scheduled delivery date, we will refund 100% of the difference, including tax. To receive the lower price, you must call 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289). Price matching cannot be processed in our stores or via email. If you see a lower price on our website or at our store near you, all conditions apply from our standard Price Match Guarantee.

 

What if the competitor does not have the item in stock or has limited quantities of the product?

Sometimes a qualifying competitor will advertise a product in ads and on its website as having limited quantities in stock. If the item is out of stock or the competitor has advertised as limited quantities of an item, it is not eligible for price matching. Likewise, if we have a product that is advertised as being limited in quantity it will not be eligible for price matching.

 

Does adding Best Buy Totaltech™ to my product purchase make my purchase a bundle purchase?

No. The addition of Best Buy Totaltech to your product purchase does not make the purchase a bundle purchase.

 

Is the price match policy different in Puerto Rico?

Yes. Best Buy Puerto Rico stores have their own Price Match Guarantee. The Best Buy Puerto Rico Price Match Guarantee terms are posted in Puerto Rico stores.

 

Is the Price Match Guarantee the same for purchases in Best Buy from stores within the store (Best Buy Mobile, Pacific Kitchen and Home, Magnolia Design Center and Magnolia Home Theater)?

Yes. The Price Match Guarantee terms apply to a purchase from any of our stores within a store. The Price Match Guarantee applies to BestBuy.com purchase but may vary from other Best Buy owned or branded websites. Please see each specific individual website for their terms and conditions. 

 

Is the Price Match Guarantee the same for purchases from Best Buy Kiosks?

Best Buy Kiosks do not price match prior to purchase. Aside from not price matching prior to purchase, all other terms and conditions of the Price Match Guarantee apply. Best Buy Kiosk price match requests after purchase can only be handled via online chat or by calling 1-888-BEST BUY (1-888-237-8289).

 

Do you price match "free gift with purchase" offers?

No. We do not price match "free gift with purchase" orders. This includes free gift card with purchase offers.

 

Do you price match offers with financing?

No. We do not match competitors' financing offers, or financing offers that differ between our stores and BestBuy.com. But you can buy a product, get a price match, and still use our low or no interest financing plans on your original purchase. We also do not price match to a competitors' price that can only be received when using the competitor's credit card.

 

Do you match competitors' trade-in value and offers on trade-in products?

No. We do not match our competitors' trade-in value and offers on trade-in products.

 

How does the Price Match Guarantee apply to coupons?

We do not match competitors' coupons. Also, customers can either use a coupon or price match to a lower price, but not both. We do not allow a coupon to be used on a product that has a price match.

 

How does the Price Match Guarantee apply to sales tax?

We match the pre-tax price. We do not take sales tax into consideration for price match purposes. We will not override sales tax to match a competitor’s price.

 

How does your price match policy apply to pre-orders?

If the price of a pre-order item drops at the time of shipment, you will automatically be charged the lower price. Your credit card is not charged until the product is shipped.

 

How do I show "proof" of price?

The best way to show proof of price is to bring in the competitor’s current ad or notify us of the website address of the designated major online retailer. We may call the competitor’s retail store or check the website address of the designated major online retailer to verify the lower price and availability of the item.

 

How does your price match policy apply to a cell phone purchased with an installment billing plan?

If you have purchased a cell phone on an installment billing plan from Best Buy and we lower our installment billing price during the return and exchange window, you have some options. You may bring your phone to a Best Buy store, and we will research the pricing history on your purchased phone to see if you qualify for a price match. If you qualify, you have two options for a price match. The first option is to receive a Best Buy Gift Card for the difference between the overall installment billing price you agreed to pay for the phone and the current installment billing price on the phone. For example, if your installment billing plan calls for you to pay a total of $600 and the phone is now available for $500, we will provide you with a $100 Best Buy Gift Card. The second option is that you may return your purchased phone along with the contract and purchase a new phone with a new contract at the discounted price. Please note that a return, even with a repurchase, requires the deletion of all data on the phone, and you are responsible for all fees associated with a return. When calculating the original purchase price of the phone, all offers, including two-for-one and gift card offers, are considered. There is a limit of one price match per phone.

 

If Best Buy Business or Best Buy Education has a lower price, will you match it?

No. Whether due to a bulk purchase order or a specific promotion, Best Buy Business or Best Buy Education may have a lower price on a product. We do not match the price offered to Best Buy Business or to Best Buy Education customers.

 

Do you match prices for liquidation or going out of business sales?

No. Items in a liquidation or going out of business sale are clearance items. Clearance items are excluded from the Price Match Guarantee.

 

We may run tests of the Price Match Guarantee in select locations and may amend these terms at any time.
