Generally a manufacturers warrenty will not cover damage to your computer. Did you happen to purchase Best Buys servcie plan in addition?
The idea of an 11 month warrenty confuses me. Normally they are 12 months.

unfortunatly manufacturers warrently is not going to cover replacement of a damaged computer.
You can take it in to the Geek Squad and they can estimate how much it would cost to fix.

Screen repairs can be costly. If you're mainly using your laptop at home and your laptop has an HDMI port, you could connect it to a TV to do your work or you can buy a monitor to connect to the laptop to continue your productivity until you can figure out a better solution. At this point HP laptops have been known to go as low as $229 for the 15.6 inch variety, and with Windows 10 being cheaper for OEMS to bundle, Some laptops with built in SSD drives go as low as $149 during sales. It's all up to you what you want to do but be aware of the general price for the screen repairs.
