bought inspiron 1525 pretty basic stuff on it and have 'brighthouse coming out tuesday for router ........is that it? ......I need to do anything else?

Are you saying you are renting a router from the cable company? That might be a good move in the long run because if a router they own goes out, its replaced free of charge on your rental agreement.

You will also want a casing for your laptop that fits properly and provides a good level of padding and protection against accidental droppings.

Oh, the router encryption key should be setup by the cable company automatically and they should be writing down the key on a piece of paper for you as well, as that key is needed to access a network on the router.
