Any idea when best buy is going to start selling the oculus rift?

Pre-orders are available already as part of a bundle.
I have the feeling that Sony, Dell (Alienware), Asus and Microsoft were big backers of the developemtn of the Oculus which may be why you see them bundled with these brands.
Other than the GPU the requirements are not terribly high
Video Card NVIDIA GTX 970 / AMD R9 290 equivalent or greater
CPU Intel i5-4590 equivalent or greater
Memory 8GB+ RAM
Video Output Compatible HDMI 1.3 video output
USB Ports 3x USB 3.0 ports plus 1x USB 2.0 port
OS Windows 7 SP1 64 bit or newer
I have read that the price on the Oculus Rift is around $600

Hi jim1174 –
We have not yet made any announcement about if or when we will be selling the Oculus Rift as a standalone product, so I am unable to answer your question. I do recommend keeping an eye on our Virtual Reality Headset page for any new information.

Looks like tomorrow is the day.
Extremely limited stock, limited locations....

In couple weeks.

I read an article a few weeks ago that there is not goign to be nearly enough stock to match pre-orders anywhere. Anyone who orders it needs to accept the fact that they may not get it for a few weeks to months after relesase.

I read an article that the Oculus was budgeted way under for production on the first runs and they are going to have a hard time supplying them to stores in sufficient quantities.
I suppose it makes sense with something like this. I am sure they did not want to produce more than they could sell before version 2.0 comes out.
I cannot wait to demo them.
