System update issues

Im trying to update a tablet I got from a friend, Model number NS-P10A7100, to the newest android system but it keeps telling me its up to date when I know its not. Its running on Android 6.0.1 What can I do?

Welcome to our community! My understanding remains that, unlike iOS software releases, manufacturers usually have to write their own Android device drivers for their products when a new Android OS is released. This particular tablet model appears to have been discontinued, so at first glance, I'm wondering if the drivers on this device simply haven't been updated to allow for an operating system upgrade.

 

I'll reach out to a few of my contacts here at the Corporate office to see if I can get a more concrete answer, though. As soon as I hear back from them, I'll reply to this thread.

I have heard back from my internal partners and was told that my suspicions were regrettably correct.  Because this tablet has been discontinued, it is not likely that it will be included in the list of devices for Google to update moving forward.  I apologize that I do not have better news to share with you.
