I would suggest a docking station that utilizes USB-C, if your laptops have it.
Then it is just a matter of plugging the USB-C between them
Or, if your monitors are advanced enough you can plug both lap tops into both and then your monitor should have buttons on the front or side to determine which input to use.
I have my computer set up for home work with dual monitors. My daughters TV quit on us so I plugged her Xbox into one of them. If the computer is turned off it automatically switches to the other input.
