Sony Vaio - floor/demo unit - still with bestbuy security policy - no way to change admin password

I bought Sony VAIO VGN-SZ430N from BestBuy few weeks ago. It was a floor/demo unit. Some GeekSquad guy took 1 day time and told me that he reinstalled the OS (Vista) on it and everything is good to go.

Apparently not.

The laptop works fine. The problem is I have this stange user id 'bby' - it has all the admin privilages. And I can not set the password for it or neither can I create another user and set the password. and neither can i enroll finger prints login.

Not sure what I should do since Bestbuy opened a security hole in my laptop and does not allow me to fix it. As of now, some 'bby' seem to own my laptop. I am fed up.

Pls provide a solution that works - that I can change the 'bby' to my name and be able to create password.

Thanks

Make sure there is a check mark for "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer". If it is not checked you cannot make any changes to any account.

Is "Users must enter a user name and password to use this computer" a policy setting? Where do I change/check mark this?

Start > Control Panel > User Accounts.

Note: I am assuming you have Windows Vista, if not let me know which OS you are running.
