Hey my computer officially died and im looking to buya new one
When buying directly from bestbuy/Staples, do i get manufacturers warranty? (Eg i buy an asus computer from staples and i get asus warranty which i can call up their customer service)
When buying new from a thirdparty from Bestbuy Marketplace/amazon, does it come with manufacturers warranty? (Do i need to make sure it states manufacturers warranty or something)
I am looking to purchase a specific model, which i found refurbished options. Would you recommend getting the refurbished version (as its cheaper)? Are there any differences in performance, etc when buying refurbished compared to retail? Or rather, any tips on how to select a refurbished laptop?
Thank you in advance

Good Morning, mahiragil.
Welcome to the Best Buy Community Forums. I definitely understand wanting to fully research your options before making a large purchase, such as a new laptop. I am happy to provide you with the answers to these questions as they pertain to Best Buy.
1. When purchasing new from Best Buy, you do get a manufacturer's warranty on most products. Most manufacturer's warranties for laptops is one year, and may only cover specific issues as outlined by the manufacturer. If purchased at Best Buy, you can bring the laptop to a local Geek Squad Precinct and they can assist you with sending the laptop to our repair facility for work under the manufacturers warranty.
2. When purchasing third party, you will need to identify if there is an included warranty and how you would be able to utilize it if needed. This may involve needing to ship the laptop directly to the manufacturer for support.
3. Refurbished laptops are an excellent option for those looking to save money. Refurbished laptops utilize parts as designated by the manufacturer to be fully compatible and are tested to ensure they meet the expected functionality. The refurbished laptops sold by Best Buy may be eligible to add Geek Squad Protection, which is an added warranty that covers defects and damage to the device.
If you have any additional questions, please feel free to send me a private message and I will be happy to assist you further.

What @Bobby-BBY says.
All new computers from BB are gonig to carry a full manufacturers warrently.
However, I would suggest looking into Total Tech Support first, then get your computer.
I would be very cautious about buying electronics from a third party. Amazon is probalby not selling them but someone who is selling on Amazon

One other thing , Best Buy Marketplace has been defunct for quite some time now. However Best Buy Canada may appear to have this still. Are you located in Canada since you mentioned this ?
