Post-Sale Question

We had planned on going into Best Buy today to purchase a deal on a computer we saw last week--$1099 for the 13.3" Macbook Pro with Retina Display (8 gigabyte memory/128 gigabyte flash display). Unfortunately, when I checked the price today, I realized that last week's price was a sale and the price has gone back up to $1299. Do you know how soon a sale on this product is expected? We would have to wait until it drops down again to purchase within our budget. Thanks!

Re: Post-Sale Question

The prospect of a brand new Macbook Pro is pretty exciting.

Unfortunatly nobody at Best Buy can or will be able to tell you of upcoming promotions and sales until they are made official and published.

The week before iPads were on sale for $100 off.  I was going to buy one for my wife for her August birthday but did not. Now I am going to hope they go on sale again.

On a different recommendation. I purchase nearly everything at Best Buy on a Best Buy credit card. And then pay it off before the bill is due.  Or I make a $75 a month payment for smaller things.

In the situaiton of big ticket items like the MacBook Pro I would opt for 12 or 18 financing and then just be careful to pay it off before it matures.

Re: Post-Sale Question

I had the same thing happen to me when I bought a macbook air.  It took a little over a month to go back on sale to get the deal that I wanted.  I wouldn't go off of that, just wanted to share.  I don't think there is an actual time frame as to when you can expect something to go back on sale, and I wouldn't expect BBY to be able to release any inside information other than "keep checking..."

I would look for the model number of the Macbook Pro that you were interested in on other websites.  Do a price match if you can find it anywhere cheaper before it goes on sale again.  It didn't take too long for me to get my deal that also saved me hundreds.

Re: Post-Sale Question

I still intend on getting the iPad for my wife for her birthday if it goes on sale again.

I typically make bookmarks in my browser to items I want to watch.

However, that being said.  Typicaly the 4th of July sales are some of the best of the year.
