The display in the 2016 model of the HP Spectre x360 15 4K turned out not to be as advertised, and it is possible that they are using the same display in the new model. The 2016 HP Spectre x360 15 display used the RG/BW Pentile matrix to cheat the ability to advertise the 4K UHD 3840x2160 resolution, wit... (link goes to youtube video).
The new one could be using a completely different display, but given HP's track record with pentile I would say it is better to wait for reviews in order to confirm that.
For now, the Lenovo Yoga 710 4K (link goes to Best Buy listing) is a 940MX-equipped 15.6" 2-in-1 that has been confirmed to use a 100% honest true 4K display (link goes to youtube video).
I will either update this post or make a follow-up post once I am able to confirm the type of display used in this laptop.
